Isn't it Boring to Specialize? Celebrating the Polymath.

A polymath is a person whose expertise spans a significant number of different subject areas. Intelligent Life magazine pointed out 20 living examples, among them my favorite: Bruce Dickinson best known as vocalist of Iron Maiden, also Screenwriter, Actor, Fencer, Airline Captain. Isn't it boring to specialize?

As a foreigner, a French citizen, an artist and an America's lover I am deeply involved in some observations of your country's multiple faces. I saw many things thant are to me consequences of a bond to standards very tightened and very invisible. This bond has many consequences on the way people see themselves, how the world look at them as well, open new areas of thinking and position themselves in the contemporary world.
