A polymath is a person whose expertise spans a significant number of different subject areas. Intelligent Life magazine pointed out 20 living examples, among them my favorite polymath Bruce Dickinson best known as vocalist of Iron Maiden, Screenwriter, Actor, Airline Captain and recently promoted to Marketing Director of an airline. Are we specializing too much and losing sight of the big picture?
